I'm still trying to figure out which scope to buy and I was wondering is anyone has any ideas on the Swarovski Habicht. It seems like it's a "cheap" Swaro. Are they anygood. How do they compare to Zeiss Conquest and Leupold VX-3?

Thanks

I might catch hell for this - but that never stopped me before:

Optically speaking, EVERYTHING Swaro makes is optically superior to EVERYTHING Leupold makes.

The Swaro scopes are optically superior to the Zeiss Conquest line and almost as good as good as the Victory Diavari -considered by most to be the very best glass available.

Personally, on a hunting rifle, I'd take a Swaro over anything Leupold and over Zeiss Conquest.  Others are free to disagree.

Optically, Swaro is superb.

First of all, there is no such thing as a "cheap Swaro."  Secondly, the trade name "Habicht" (which is named after an Austrian mountain) does not refer to just one series of scopes in the Swaro line, but is used for both 1" and 30mm scopes in the AV, PV, and PF lines.  Prior to the introduction of the Z6, Z5, and Z3 series scopes, all Swaro riflescopes, as well as their porro prism binoculars, had the "Habicht" designation.  So, when you say "Swarovski Habicht," you could be referring to any number of different optics at varying price levels, none of which are low end.

I think some are also ffp. But agree, no conquest or leo compares.

OK, I obviously don't know much about them. I thought that "Habicht" was the same as "Nova".

I guess all the statements still hold true though? The Nova is head and shoulders above the Leupolds and Conquests (in addition to being a bit more expensive)?

Some in the PH/PV series are FFP (not sure if all in the series are).

OK, I figured out that the scope is actually a Swarovski 3 and I've found some info on it. Thanks for the replies.

Swaro over Leupold.  My opinion.
