Does anyone have information on this scope? I have a new 270 weatherby that I thought would be a perfect scope for it. I know the scope will run about $2300. Our there any reviews done on it?

If you want a high power z6 you'd probably be better off with the 2-12, 2.5-15 or 3-18. I'd lean toward the first two. As for the z6, it's excellent.

I agree with James.  I'd go for the 1.7-10x42.  I couldn't find the 5-30 on the swaro. website, so it must be really new.  The Z6 are great scopes, you won't be unhappy with your purchase if you decide to get one.

I mostly hunt down in Georgia for deer in food plots and beanfields Most shots are from 200 to 300 yards. Most of my rifles have swaroski scopes on tmen now and I love them

That's cool. What are you going to use it for?? I'd probably never use that type of power for hunting but I do like a little extra power than 10x for where we hunt. We don't sit in stands like on TV and our shots can be longer. I got the 2-12x50 a couple of years ago and it's very versatile. Swaro just came out with a couple of others the 2.5-15x44 which would also be good where we hunt and the 3-18x50 that I'd consider putting on a LR rifle.

I own a new 3x10x42 american, I love it and I just sent it back to Swaro in RI to install the BR (Reticle)..What about the 6x18x50 american swaro, Ive been looking at those along with the Z-6 2.5x15x44 .. I would prefer the z-6 as its alot smaller but it cost 3 times as much as well, but thats just me..

I would go with the 1.7-10 or the 2-12 Z6 for that gun and those ranges.  The top end on that seems like overkill unless you are planning on taking up long range shooting.  The top end I have on my scopes is 16x and I rarely use that hunting.

The Z6 is a great scope.  I tested one a while back and loved it, just couldn't afford to keep it.  Which reticle are you looking at getting?

A 5-30X scope is WAY more magnification than needed for those conditions!  I would go with either the 1.7-10X42 or the 2-12X50 if it were me.  With those 2 scopes, you have plenty of X's on the top end, combined with expansive FOV on the low end for those times when you're hunting in the thick stuff.  10X or 12X is more than enough power for even the longest shots you will typically ever see in all but the most extreme deer hunting situations.  So why pay the extra $ and have the extra weight and scope length if you don't have to?  Optically, the Z6 is outstanding, so you won't be handicapped with "only" 10 or 12X on the top end.

The only situation I could see where the 5-30X would be truly advantageous is for target or very small, long range varmint shooting.  FWIW, though, I typically use 12 - 14X max setting on my scopes for most of the long range prairie dog shooting I do because of heat mirage.
