I think I must be retarded because I don't see where it tells me the lens coatings.

perhaps you should expand the question--- swaro is not going to give certain trade secrets.

Swaro lenses are fully multicoated but they do not put a name on their coating like lutec etc. that means nothing None of the companies are going to tell you the chemical composition of their coating, like Dale Clifford noted above.

Coating composition are closely guarded secreats.

I merely asked for the coatings, not the composition.  Just like they advertise the PH series with Swarotop® and Swarodur® coatings.  I didn't just give up a trade secret did I

What do you gain with a word without the exact meaning? In the case of coating exactly what they are.

If I have an opinion of the ph series and the z6 uses the same quality of glass and coatings would it not give me an opinion of that model as well?

I have the brochure in front of me here and the only thing it states in this is they have Swarotop coatings.
I have also looked through the entire range and they are superb.

all things being equal won't work unless carried completely accross the board ie same erector, same, inside damping, etc. same dimensional lenses. would be impossible to determine % contribution by any given change in component. but then it wouldn't be a new scope.

wildnorthern,

When I looked at the Z6 scopes at a trade show, the Swaro reps at the booth told me there were no changes to glass or coatings in the Z6 vs. the PH series.  Then, in another discussion with Swaro in an email, they said the Z6 has very slightly better resolution than the PH somehow due to the overall optical design.  Advertised light transmission % is essentially the same for Z6 and PH.  So, who knows?  However, even if it is equal to the PH, its optics are pretty darn good -- among the top handful of scopes available in the world.

I would suggest just calling Swarovski personally at their Cranston, RI service center.  They've always been very cordial and helpful whenever I've called and asked questions.
