i was reading a thread on another popular forum where some of owners of these have said they have seen tracking and/or change in POI with these scopes...

i know the internet can make a mountain out of a mole hill, curious if anyone here has experience with this as i am seriously considering a z3 ....

i know any brand can and does break

i know cf2 loves his and that is good to hear

thx

I have a few of the older AVs and love them, have a friend with a Z3, no problems from his.

On a boomer like a 338 or 50-cal, yea, they might develop issues, but on a normal setup, I haven't heard anyone complain about repeatability or tracking.

I had some minor tracking issues during my initial sighting in, but not since then. I sent it in to Swarovski for examination, and everything checked out great. I never had POI problems. I had several hundred rounds of 300 RUM on mine.

i'm looking hard at the 3-9x36 myself, want a small compact scope, lower power that will last a long long time on a dedicated hunting rig

I care more about getting it as low as I can more than the weight,  your body weight fluxuates more than that during the day

Swarski 3-9x36 Z3 Riflescope

Weight (oz): 12

Plex

Length (in):12.13

$750.00

Savage 11/111 Lightweight Hunter .223

A reasonably priced scope in their line up that would be very well suited to my savage. Very attractive scope.

i notice the plex reticle has posts that come close together 6-7" apart @ 100 yards

the crosshairs on the 4a are barely any thicker...

im thinking i could use the posts to bracket game when the crosshairs fade
the posts are although thicker on the 4A are twice as far apart and i dont know if the crosshair will "appear" any thicker...on the 3-10 its only .07 thicker at 10x

does anyone think the plex could be a better lowlight reticle because the crosshair difference is marginal and the posts on the plex come closer together?

I have 2 Z6's with Plex, 1 Z3 with 4A, 2 PH with 4A, and 1 PH with BR. The Plex can get lost in very low light but the 4A is much better and easier to center in low light, IMO.

Thanks. Do you prefer the z6 to the z3? Is it worth the cost difference to have coil aprings and a wider FOV.

The Z6 is very nice but the Z3 is excellent for basic hunting.
