What is the difference between Remington's new SuperCell and the older R3 recoil pads? Up until now I thought they were different names for the same recoil pad, are they different, is one more effective than the other?
Thanks,
Sam

they arent the same, from what ive read the super cell is better and it doesnt develope the sticky residue that the r3 does.

From what I gathered from talking to Remington, the SuperCell is newer and reduces felt recoil by a bigger percentage.  It also isn't as tacky as the R3 and therefore doesn't "catch" on your clothing!  My son's 700 CDL came with one and its awesome!  I'm trying to get one to put on my 700 Mountain LSS.  My LSS is a 2003 and so far they aren't making one for that old of a stock.  I might have to live with less than optimal fit until they do!

My CDL SF is at the smith's getting accurized, so I'm not sure which recoil pad I have. I hope it’s a SuperCell!

Just got it a few months ago, the only thing I remember is that the fit was OK but not great. I actually thought about having my smith install another pad to make the rifle look better, but in the end I chose having him lap the locking lugs instead.

I'm not sure what is on my son's CDL!  I was at a store and they had the SuperCell and it did NOT look like the pad on his rifle..... they had a Limbsaver pad and it DID look like the pad on his rifle.  I'm guessing it came with the R3, but I'm not sure at this point.  Sorry for any confusion!

what's the story with the residue that develops from these pads?  I have a limbsaver that picks up the foam from the truck rifle case.

thats it right there, and apparently it get worse with time, and the pad actually starts to fall apart and the residue ends up on your clothes etc.

Does the R3 do that and how about the SuperCell, does it do that also?

well, I think they have changed the outer layer of the newer ones.  I bought a slip-on type a few years back and that damn thing got caught on everything!  It was real tacky.  I've noticed the new ones aren't like that, so maybe they fixed that problem.
