Hello all, I'm new here and of course have a question.

I've decided to purchase a Super Sniper scope, mainly based on the large number of very good reviews they've gotten and their price.  I've searched the forum for my question but haven't been able to find it.

My question is which scope to get?  I'm between the SS10X42M and the SS10X42.  Rear parallax or side parallax adjustment.  As I understand it the diopter adjustment on both models remains at the rear.

Are there other differences between the two?  What are the pros/cons of each?  Why would you choose one over the other?

In my case the $100 price difference isn't a big deal since the whole purchase is being offset by the sale of a camera lens that will cover the cost.

This will be mounted on a .308 Remington 700P.

Thanks,
David

Its a matter of preference. I say buy both.  The rear focus of course has no knob to the left so it's slimmer.  If you like the knob on the left then buy that.

Both huh? And me with only the one rifle...

It's good to know the Super Sniper sales rep posts to the forum ;)

So since you say it's just preference is the only difference where the parallax adjustment is?  Not weather proofing or anything else?

Another BIG question is are you a lefty?  You have to get use to reaching over the top with the side focus of the 42M

I have no affiliation with SWFA, other than as a customer.  Love mine.

Sorry to hear you only have one rife. I actually own one of each a 10x side focus and a 10x rear focus. I tend to prefer the side focus but the rear focus is slimmer and I use it more often. I like both and could be happy with either one.  Only difference is where the adjustment is located.
I'm not the sales rep, I dont care if you buy one or not for all I care you can duck tape an old coke bottle to your rifle.

I was just joking about the sales rep thing.

I have more than one rifle, but just one that needs a new scope.

I'm a righty and I suspect that reaching up with my right hand it will be a bit easier to adjust it if I get the side focus.

I had read someplace in a review that one of them was more water proof than the other.  I take it that isn't true?
