My 4 year old SS 10 X showed scattered specks around the reticle so after search and research, I filled out the Bushnell repair form and sent it in with a 10 $ check. Online repair status showed it had been received awaiting evaluation. Today it showed it qualified warranty repair and that it would be replaced pending order of a replacement. Any ideas what it may be replaced with? I plan to call them and ask tomorrow but ask here in case forum members could enlighten me. Thanks for any input.

If I may ask....where did you get the SS Repair form from Bushnell?
My buddy has a 10X that suddenly lost its focus. No matter how you try, it will not come into focus. Thank you!

The SWFA SS do not go to Bushnell for repair, you need to give us a call and speak with our returns department for warranty repair.

Seem to be some confusion here on SWFA SS service.
My SWFA 10X42 SS scope that I recently acquired had a reticle that was uniformly covered with all sort of sizes of specs some larger than others, visible with normal use. On holding the scope up a light source and looking through the eyepiece at a slight angle I could see that the reticle was uniformly covered with what appeared to be fine debris. The elevation adjustment was excessively "mushy" and individual "click" adjustments could not be felt or heard and making a small elevation change of 1/4 to 1/2 MOA after waiting a short interval required visual inspection at temperatures of about 68 degrees. I sent Bushnell customer service an email describing the problem including a description and identification of my SWFA scope (10X42 SS). I received an email response within an hour that instructed me to send in the scope with a completed form obtained from their web site. The form was completed and sent in with $10.00 including a copy of SWFA's purchase invoice. FedEx tracking shows Bushnell received my scope on April 5. The problems appear to be that of a quality assurance issue rather than normal wear. I plan to call Bushnell soon to get some sense of who will do what. |

Bushnell does not make scopes. Their scopes are mode in other countries just like most manufacturers do. They hire an optical company to make them to their spec just like SWFA does with the SS line. They do have a US service dept for repairs though. SWFA has bushnell repair SS scopes.

Got a new SS 10X42 from Bushnell about 8 days ago. this one says made in Japan underneath. It came in a plain white box, was identical to the one I sent in for repair and is VERY clear and bright.

I sent a SS 10X42 to Bushnell for repair/ replacement but I did this before the nice folks at SWFA informed me that they would take care of the warranty on the scope.
A time line of events: Contacted Bushnell and told them about the problem via email, received a response back within hour informing me to send in the SS 10X42. Used their web site and site repair form (www.bushnell.com) day 1 Sent Bushnell the SS 10 X 42 via Fed Ex (day 2) Received email from SWFA informing me that they would deal with problem. (day 3) Called Bushnell and talked with nice lady who told me that Bushnell would deal with problem. (day 3) Fed Ex tracking tells me that scope arrived at Bushnell Labs Overland Park KS (day 4) Received lab repair number via USPS (post card) providing me with a lab repair number and stating the scope would be replaced. (day 14) I have confidence that Bushnell will do me right but I wish that I had contacted SWFA at the beginning. I expect my replacement scope some time by early May. Keep in mind all mechanical/optical devices are subject to failure or problems and 4-6 weeks is entirely reasonable for repair/replacememt that in my case is for recreational use.
