10x for hunting would be my opinion.

it will be a more stable image and will work for 600 yards or so, with no problems.

600 will be like 60yrds w/ iron sights. not too bad for a deer or coyote.

10 power all the way. When you bump up into the 16 power you cut your field of view in half and loose some other things the ten powers are known for. 10 is definately enough for 500 yards. I personally have shot five hundred with a 3-9 bdc by Nikon. 16 power is to much power.

Great so ten it is, thanks again for the help. I have one more question, there are two 10x scopes available, do you all think the one with the side adjustment is really worth an extra $100, or the big question do you think there is a better scope in this price range. Thanks again and sorry for all the questions.

Purely a matter of preference, my friend.

I'm a lefty so I like the rear focus model better than the SF.
