I have a new SS 10x with rear focus that I bought for midrange deer hunting. The scope seems to be everthing it was promised to be but I didn't receive any documentation and want to ensure I understand the features.

Should the rear focus be so critical? If I focus on something 100 yards away and then look at something 25 yards away it is so fuzzy I can't tell a cow from a horse. It will focus very clearly when adjusted, but you can't use it until then. Is this normal?

What is the slotted (flathead) screw on the adjustment ring for? I understand the purpose of the three hex head screws on the turrets.

Can I download a manual? The search feature gave me 27 pages of threads, but I didn't see this information.

Thanks for your help.

The Focus is also for Parralax correction, Yes it's important for accuracy. The flat head screw on the focus ring DON"T SCREW WITH IT !

There's no manual you could download. The one that comes with it is real generic and doesn't really give much information.

The screw you're talking about is just for assembly purposes. Don't mess with it.
