I'm looking at getting a fixed power scope for a AR. I was looking at the Leupold fx-3 6x when I heard a SS 6x was in the works.

It's my understanding that this Leupold model has a dual spring erector set up. I only have a basic understanding of what that means and no idea if its just marketing hype or a great thing. I do know I missed a buck this year because my Burris 6x had gotten "knocked off" and I also missed a coyote because of the same thing with a Shepherd. It need not be said how little I like that crap.

With that in mind, would anybody like to enlighten me about erector tube systems. I'm most interested in the SuperSniper line of scopes but would like to here about Leupold and Burris systems as well.

Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

SS and Leupold are about as good as you can expect.
I will say though, I have only ever had one scope fail on me. I no longer use that brand at all. I have also seen a few times where it wasn't the scope at all. But instead some one didn't do a good job of mounting the scope.
