Ok so after all the reviews, swfa's website etc..I ordered the above scope.  As soon as I opened the box, I found the Tasco manual, Tasco warranty card, a sticker on the bottom that said Kenko Optics japan...

I thought these were being made by SWFA's source and it didn't have the whole jobber, distributer, mfg, rep path which was why they are so inexpensive.  But mine is clearly marked Kenko and Tasco....  Did I get an older product...It even mentioned a wire reticle and I thought they were laser etched reticles.

Any idea's....I am starting to feel like I drank the "koolaid"

Welcome to The OT.

Your fears are totally unfounded, my friend.

Your reticle is laser etched and Tasco didn't make it.

You did indeed drink the kool aid and it's GOOD!

Cheaptrick...thanks for the reply...I've read a few of your posts during my research.  What about the instruction manual and tasco warranty card?

I originally was going to purchase the Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 LR/T M1 with the TMR reticle and a LaRue QD 158 mount but decided that since i am neither LEO/MIL/Operator I could benefit from the cost savings and ditch the NcStar 6-24x50 scope i currently have on my DPMS LR-308.  So after all the reviews, articles and posts (I've spent probably 20+ hours reading on the net) that i would try the SS.  SO i was a little shocked to see the Tasco box, Manual and warranty card.  I briefly glanced thru the glass at some far off objects but won't really have a feel until I mount and shoot.

Hoping this will be worth the 400 ponies...I figured since I saved almost a grand, I could finally afford a Remington 700PSS 308, and with the LaRue mount, I can switch between rifles as i choose.

SWFA took over sole proprietorship of the Super Sniper and Tasco got "phased out of loop" at some point. Bushnell does the warranty work on the SS, not Tasco.

I don't remember the whole story and frankly don't care.

What I do know is SWFA is running the show NOW and if you or I have any problems with our SS's, Chris and the good folks @ SWFA will take care of us.

As you probably deduced by my many post's, I love mine!!

Mount that scope up and go SHOOT!!!   No worries.

(My SS does double duty on my AR and my Remington too.)

The PSS is a great rifle and will serve you well.

My VSLH is basically the same as the PSS, but the stocks are a little differant. 26" barrels are the same, to my knowledge.

I would have went with the PSS but they don't come in a LH version.........

So...do we ignore the warranty card for Tasco...since there isn't anything from Bushnell in the box...

IF you were to have any problems with your Super Sniper, just contact SWFA and they will give you all the details you need to get straight.

Until then, enjoy your Supa Snipahhh......

I called earlier today and they gave me the scoop on the phone.   I am 100% satisfied at this point and have no regrets, other than, my larue mount will not be here until tommorrow.......

BTW, what is your thought on the Savage 10FP Le in 308.  I like the price point better than the Remi 700p

The Savage LE rifles, at least the ones I have seen, are outstanding, accuracy wise.

Not a Remington though.....

I feel the Savage would serve you well, my friend. Those rifles are real deal shooters.

Check THIS Savage out!!

The only negative thing I could possibly say about this rifle is....If your groups suck that day at the range, you can't blame the rifle.........

What say you, Sir??

What I particularly like in the SS box is the user guide with the pic of the old M-16 with the SS mounted on the carry handle.  I would love to see a pic from somebody who mounted the SS on their carry handle.

SS Rocks!
