I just got the Super Sniper and going be taking it to the shooting range a couple times this weekend. I mounted it on a Stevens model 200 in .223. Here are a few pics:

A review will be forthcoming in a couple of days!

OK just got back from the range. I spent the day behind the Super Sniper 10X42. Lets start at the beginning. When I first received the SS I opened the box and my first reaction was "This scope feels like a heavy duty scope" (not just because of the weight). The scope is an attractive scope and looks good on top of my rifle (not that it really matters but I think some scopes are just plain ugly). I liked the smoothness of the rear focus adjustment. That was all the tests I could do from home. Now on to the range. I started by zeroing my rifle at 50 yards. It took 3 shots to find the zero. I could have found it using 2 but I was getting used to the turrets. The target turrets are a nice feature when you are on the bench. It was my first time using them but I enjoyed them. They may be a little much for the type of deer hunting I do because of its size, but would be nice on a varmint rig. The SS was very clear throughout the sight picture.  The rear adjustment allowed for clarity from 50 yards out to 200 (I know it could do more but that was what I was limited to). The scope tracked well and was precise after each dial. Because the range is not open at dusk or dawn I couldn't check for its light gathering capabilities. I tested the SS against my Nikon Buckmaster 3-9X40 and the SS was much better in low light testing it from my backyard.

Overall I think the SS is a great scope. A guy was using a Nightforce scope on the bench next to me and he liked the SS. He said obviously thought the Nightforce is a better scope but he was happy with the optics on the SS. He said the optics on the Nightforce was more than enough for his eyes or in other words his eyes are not good enough to fulfill the capabilities of a Nightforce. If I were to buy a SS, I would buy it for a target rifle or varmint rifle. It is a little bulky and heavy for the type of deer hunting I do liek I said earlier; basically we walk for miles each day because the deer we hunt don't really have a pattern so it's hard to just sit somewhere and wait. I would also want just a regualr duplex reticle for deer hunting but if you understand Mil-dots they would be nice to use, but I'm not that experienced with them.

The SS is a great scope!

P.S. I'll post my targets on range report.

  Nice review, great pics.
Extra points for not needing your wife and a couple other people to help post your pics, unlike that other imbecile who posted a Super Sniper Range Report this weekend.  Bucky
(See RONK and the SUPERSNIPER thread...)
BTW, your stock looks a little like mine, but without the camo wrap!

AAR  -- all about rifles  (damn rifle people never shoot pistols) --- one area the SS really excels takes advantage of the outstanding tracking ability. As was pointed out in another post the tracking error is worse shooting at close ranges, as the need to dial in more compensation is needed. How much error is introduced in shooting long range 22lr, from just the tracking error of the scope? Most 22 lr use light weight rigs and once sighting in has been done rarely change. But as the cost of shooting increases and availability of reloading stuff stays tight alternatives are looked at.

Just to clarify, Dale- Monster is shooting a .223 here.  I shot a .22 rimfire in my review.
It may be a bit confusing because our reports came out about the same time, both are Super Sniper scopes, and our rifles' stocks paint jobs resemble each other a little, although mine has camo tape on most of it.
