So glad to be wrong on the score. Big Grin

Here's your NFL MVP.....Before he walked off stage from his after game presser. Guess Superman was needed elsewhere....

Good for Manning
"got a lot of thinking to do, a lot of Bud to drink, while eating Papa John's and opening Nationwide policies, in Under Armour gear"
Gotta love it, especially the big kiss from Schnatter

Cam falling to the ground after the defensive holding call was brutal.  He looked like my 5 year old after I told him to brush his teeth.

http://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/955168

He is an incredibly gifted athlete, but has a lot to learn about leading by example.

Congrats Broncos!

Peyton really didn't think about winning the Superbowl afterward just endorsements. Was good that he didn't dis his defense by announcing his retirement. Shoulda coulda skipped the endorsement crap too! He did enough not to lose. The Orange Crush showed up yesterday!

All The Barners are circling the wagons for their baby boy.......hahahahaha.......Excellent

I agree, Mike. Manning had a VERY average day, but in fairness, the Cat's defense is solid.

I went through Charlotte yesterday in route to a friend who passed memorial service and I bet I saw 5,000,000,000 Carolina flags on cars.

Today?? I saw exactly...ZERO point ZERO flags near Charlotte.

It was one of the worst super Bowls ever… regardless of who won.
I still like Cam, I still like Manning.  Both defenses played well, the Broncos DID return to the days of the "Orange Crush".
Offense… eh...

Cam Newton is a POS. He was Tebow's back-up at UF ... and was dismissed from school for stealing a computer and lying about it. He threw it out the window when the cops showed up.

I'll never forget him backing out and failing to go for the fumble late in the game. Thug trash.

Yeah, when I saw that happen I thought what a freaking pussy.  All he had to do was fall on the ground.  That could have changed the game for them.  The great QBs were not afraid to take a hit for things like that.

Not too me. Hell I've boo'd Manning for 20 years. He's still 0-4 against Florida. He never insinuated I was a racist when I did it either...unlike $cam.

Does that dude's article incite white guilt with you, Dan??

I have NO white guilt… football players are people… flawed like everyone else.  I like Cam, I like his swagger, I like the way he treats and talks to kids… even about his "bad" days.  He just came off a terrible loss after thinking he and the Panthers were invincible.  I can overlook some things.  However, I don't really care about Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Texas A&M, MIchigan, Ohio State, Clemson, etc.
I saw a lousy football game, both teams (excluding defenses… they both played pretty well), that was supposed to be a Super Bowl, and the losing quarterback (who called himself Superman) turned out to not have a very good way of expressing himself… no comment on reasons.  He's done some stupid things, he's also tried to improve himself.  Manning has done some stupid things too.  In MY book, nothing that rates any worse treatment than Cam Newton… but not any better, either.  Manning is no hero, either.
They are football players, privileged and flawed, probably more so due to the privilege extended to football players.
In the grand scheme of things, Cam Newton's comments are not going to make a whit of difference in the world.  I still like him… as a football player… doesn't go any deeper than that.

If you like defensive games it was a great game, most like high scoring circuses so they were disappointed, even more so if rooting for the Panthers. Defense wins football games and Denver's D was better.

Both offenses were "unimpressive", to say the least, and not merely because of opposing defenses.  As I said, the defenses on both sides played well and the Broncos shined.  Most of the Broncos inability to run away with the game came from no effective offense.  I certainly don't look for "offense circus" in a football game, just professionalism and execution.  Panthers' offense was both overwhelmed and amateurish.  It just wasn't a very good game, at all.

I almost switched sides on the first play of the game when I saw a defensive (Panther) player give Manning a totally uncalled for push that sent Manning to the ground after the play was over... it was never replayed and no penalty called.  Very poor sportsmanship.  At that point I thought "so that's how it's going to be".  And it was...

Next year, I hope it is the Redskins vs the Patriots...

Oh yeah...Cam is a great role model for young boys. The mother, (they are not married) of his child, "Chosen", is a stripper. I didn't say "former", though maybe she is. Call me old fashioned, but I'd try to persuade my young son to find another idol if I had one.

The pre SB presser here in Charlotte when he took a dump on live TV and called everybody racist who don't like his antics and stated "we ain't seen nothing like him before", was WAY out of line. Way. I don't root for anyone that embodies those sentiments, Dan.

Look, if you want to cheer on Cam, be my guest, Dan. He is a great athlete, like I've said constantly, and a great entertainer. At the end of the day...that's what sports are. Entertainment.

I'm moving on and looking forward to college football season. Good day and God bless you and yours, Sir.

Some 80 grit sentiment there Mark!?!? I don't think everybody is up to speed on all of Cam's personal and not so personal antics. Time will tell on ole Cam. He will either grow up and respect the position he is in or crash and burn like so many others who give in to the high of fame.

I have a sitting, 2 term US president and an entire global media that insinuates I'M all that's wrong today in the world.
I don't need a lap top stealing, pouting, gold shoes wearing narcissist to bag on me.....

I'm a little edgy I guess.

There's Cam The Brand....and there's Cam the man. The former is the jovial, fun loving, dabbin, kid loving QB who had a TERRIFIC year. I like that one.
The man is the guy who loses.
