I like Talley's either the lightweight or standard 2pc are very well made.

The Warne Rings and Bases are steel and seem to work well.  I have also heard good things about Talley but they are alloy. I have leupold rings on several things but I have had some fail on really heavy calibers (375 H&H ,  .50 musket)

My two favorites in order of preference are: Talley's and  Warne's. Nuff said.

Talley if it is a light-weight gun, Warne if it is heavy.  I have both and like the Talley more.  The vertical split rings are a pain in the ass to align perfectly - or at least for me.

Warne bases and Warne QD rings.  Believe or not the QD rings are easier to set up than the permanent mount Warne rings.  I have so many I cannot even remember.  I love the one piece light weight Talley rings and mounts.  Great set up and easy to put together.  Strong and will stand up to just about any caliber.  I love their set up like the Warnes, but cost more and it comes down to personal preference as to the looks.  You cannot go wrong with either set up.  I would lap the light weight one piece Talley mounts and rings if this is what you choose.

Oh, and one thing nice about the Warne QD rings.  The tightening lever can be adjusted to any position after tightening so they are out of the way with clean lines.  I am not sure if the Talley QD rings have this feature.  If they do, some one correct me.
