I have one of these but I having trouble getting any input on what picatinny or weaver "style" bases will fit this gun.

Some say get the sako 75 style and some say sako 21 or 22.

Since this is an older type gun I can not find info.  Can someone help and maybe post a link of the base?

Thank you!

Well that means you need to go to the gunsmith and have him drill and tap it from there he can figure out what mount as he may have to custom make it or alter something so the screws match up.

Thank you

BUT that is what I am not sure about.  Whether the TRGS-21 21 -42 will fit the M995 old style TRGS.  The receivers do not look alike.  Others have holes, my receiver does not

The pics in the Sako Manual pdf link posted above look just like my Sako 75 top. In other words, it has a tapered- grooved receiver to accept rings made for Sako. You could say that the grooves are a sophisticated tip- off system, like on rimfires. That is not an Opti- Loc top, just a grooved rcvr.

This type Sako doesn't use bases, just clamp the rings right to the rcvr. They will have to be "made for Sako" type rings, as the grooves are tapered to make a more solid mount under recoil and so are the rings.
Talk to the guys at SWFA- I'm sure they deal with those frequently.

Well I emailed them to make sure they will work with the M995.  If they do I always use SWFA

The photos are a big help I was thinking the TRG Sniper rifle like a TRG 42 & 22.  Still if going to a rail I would strongly consider haveing a gunsmith drill and tap it and secure the rail - solid.

The Standard Sako mounts will fit the TRGS.  Yo do not need to drill them as recoil, especially from a 30-378 tightens them with every shot (but probably nothing after shot 2)  If you cannot find rings you can sell it to me.  I have one in 30-378 and one in a Lazzeroni 7.21 Firebird.  I would love to have a spare 30-378, I get nerly 4000 fps from the 130 gr Barnes TTSX's  Smile
