Better than the Wind Rivers, tried them the last time I was at Bass Pro.

I haven't used the Nighthunter's in a 12X, only the 8x56 and 10x50. Either are better than the Monarch. Never been impressed with Leupold bino's. One of the reasons I never used the 12x Nighthunter's, or many others for that matter, is that 12x bino's are very hard to hold steady offhand. IMO, to get the most out of a 12x, you need to improvise some type of rest. I can't comment on a comparison between the Nighthunter's and the Razors, although many are quite impressed with the Razors. Not sure what your friend is going to use them for, but if it involves anything beyond alot of stand type hunting, those 56mm bino's are going to feel real heavy in short order. On the plus side, and only relating to the 8x56 Nighthunters, I have never used a brighter bino than those, period.
