I need some help; I have been considering buying a pair of Steiner Marine 7x50 or Nikon Sports & Marine 7x50. I wanted something with individual eye focus and plan to use them for low light conditions.  Currently I have a pair of Leupold Wind Rivers 10x50 and find that they are hard to focus in low light.  My goal was to get a good pair of binoculars for around $300 dollars.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I do not have any experience with the Nikon model you mentioned, but the Steiners are decent though not great.  In the same general price range I was able to find IOR 7x40 binos (individual eye focus) and find that they are vastly superior to the Steiners.

I did some searching and found some I.O.R. Valdada binoculars; 2B/GA 7x40 at USA Optics for $310.00.  Do you recommend any other sites with a better price?

That sounds like a good price for the 7x40 model.

Another thing you can do is contact this forum's moderator, Chris and see if he can order one for you.  SWFA does not carry IOR binocular as standard items right now, but they do carry IOR scopes and can probably order the binos.  I do not know if he can beat that price though but it does not hurt to ask (I bought mine from Ebay, otherwise I'd probably buy through SWFA).  SWFA is a quality outfit and their customer service can't be beat.

Are you sure you want individual eye focusing?  Personally, I like that feature, but most people are turned off my it.  You can really have a lot more choices if you also look at more conventional center focus models as well.  I still think that IOR 7x40 has better image quality than anything this side of Superior Es though.

The gun show in San Antonio has a I.O.R. dealer and I plan to go and look through the 7x40 binoculars. I checked Ebay and other action site but the starting bids are at $369.

Thank you

Tommy

I think a lot more people these days are aware of the quality of IOR optics.  That has certainly driven their prices up quite a bit.  That $310 sounds like the bst deal going right now from what I've seen.  I looked around on the web a little and I see that a lot of people raised their prices since I last checked (~3 months).
