Anyone have any comments or opinions on Steiner Nighthunter XP 10x42? If you were looking to spend around $1000 any other recomendations? I would be using these mainly for hunting deer, elk and antelope hunting.

While I haven't used either I might think the Zeiss 8x50 conquest with the premier performing ABK prism would be the best in this class of bino. That is the next one I will buy. Albino tested the 10x50 conquest by zeiss as having the highest actual measured light transmission.

For that price there are many good options out there. Do you specifically need a 10X bino? And are you limiting yourself to a 42MM apeture?

Check out Meopta Meostar, or look into a slightly used or demo Swarovski SLC NEU. Both are durable roof prism models with wonderful optics.
