Anybody familiar with this optic? Does it have the same or superior quality over Zeiss? Genral thoughts?

I recently purchased a Steiner GS3 2-10x42.  I also have a Zeiss Victory 2.5-10x42 and did a quick comparison.  The Zeiss is about double the cost so I would expect an edge, and it was evident at very low light conditions.  Foliage was a little more discernible (higher contrast) with the Zeiss than with the Steiner, but contrasts with reds and browns against green leaves stood out with the Steiner, so the "game sensing" coating seems to work.  I also like the S1 reticle on the Steiner, which I hope to put to good use, paired with a 270 WSM on a South Dakota whitetail hunt this fall. Overall, the Steiner quality is excellent and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I also like the S1 reticle. But it is of limited value for low light usage as it is quite fine.
I also agree that the contrast is quite nice. I have compared it to several scoes I have on hand and was impressed considering the cost. It is easily on par with my best Conquest but not with any Kahles scope I have. I have looked into deep cover at last light and the scope lets me discern between background cover and small animals. As stated above, the reticle will limit shots in low light though.
