Here's a local news link to the story.

Oh Hell No!!!!

The Star Spangled Banner is in IMO a sacred hymn and should NOT be altered in any way.

This "new rendition" is not in honor of the US, it's actually in protest of the US policy on immigration.

They release the song Friday and scheduled a no work day(again) Monday.

Connect the dots, folks.

They are saying "We're here and we are going to change the US culture!"

Illegally here and in your face!!!

One more point:

The only reason that they have come here to work is because MOST Americans are too lazy to do the work.

The welfare state has created this mess, IMHO.

Take away the jobs the illegals are working and the problem goes away.

Any given day you can ride through my AO in Charlotte, NC and see Mexicans working and Americans, mostly black, sitting on the porch playing dominoes all day.

I'm pissed!!!!!

cheaptrick.......OUT

Well.....it was ok to perform the SSB in spanish at the dub inaugeral balls  (by John Cicada)

If it was ok for the dub then, why the problem now?

Actually, isn't there a version that was done in 1919?

There are worse things in life we have to worry about!

Too each his own, Bill.

Currently I don't have anything better to bitch about.

They changed the words of The Star Spangled Banner as well.

I live in Charlotte, NC and the illegal aliens here are starting to wear out their welcome.

The marches, the Star Spangled Banner, the fact they are crippling our health care system kinda bothers me, Partner.

I guess you and I see this differantly.

cheaptrick....out.

CT,

Here in Tucson, it is a daily stampede of people coming north.  It is not safe to go camping between here and the border.  And you can add wildfires to the list of problems they cause.  However, compared to the cost of gas, the jobs being outsourced, our declining leadership role in the world, and so forth, I find the issues with illegals to be a lower priority.

Like you said...I just see it differently.

Roger that, Bill.

Were not so far apart after all.

I just love this country, Bill.

I don't think The USA owes me anything. I'm privileged to live here.

To see these people marching and demanding rights they aren't entitled to really gripes me.

The changing of words of The Star Spangled Banner, and doing so in another language, is a symptom, not the disease.

We are quickly becoming globalized, Bill.

We are losing our American way of life. And that my friend, is scary and sad to me.

The list of other issues our country faces that you listed are VERY legitimate, Bill.

Appreciate your post, Sir.

God Bless,

cheaptrick.

Singing Star Spangled Banner in another language has been going on for more than 80 years. And not just Spanish.  There are versions in German, French, etc.  I'm not sure this is a symptom.  It may be just an attibute of a multi-cultural society.  Like Mexican food.....and i probably eat chimichangas, enchiladas or burritos almost every day.  Which reminds me, I'm getting hungry.  A double margarita with dinner sounds good.

btw. we are already globalized.  The company I work for was bought by one in the UK.  The jobs are being sent to India, and I have to train the people that will probably replace me.  That is what's scary!

I don't recall another version of The Star Spangled Banner being done for the sole purpose of sticking it to whitey, Bill.

Neither do I ever recall work boycott days, changing the words to fit their agenda, marches, and idiotic people running around demanding rights.........

THEY AINT PAID FOR!!!!!!

I may be wrong.

I say wrong.  The original version of the Star Spangled Banner was done to stick it to whitey, in this case the English.  It used to be an old tavern tune that we changed the word to stick it to them.

ps. I've been to Charlotte and it's a beautiful city, but I prefer the bigger mountains out here.

My friend, this is where you and I will have to agree to disagree.

This is a HUGE problem and it's not going away.

Like it or not, it does effect you and will effect future generations of Americans as well.

Living where you live I'm shocked by your attitude, to say the least.

I had your attitude a few years ago too, then I woke up.

Thanks for the nice comments made about The Queen City!!

It's a very nice place to live.
