I just ordered the Mil-Dot rear focus SS10X42 for my NGA MP168SPC
I use it for killing paper mostly but I hunt coyotes too.
I have read so many good reviews of this optic I decided to try it but I have read nothing about how this scope performs in cold.

Does the SS10X42 function properly even in temperatures around zero?
Turrets spin and click values remain accurate?

No problems in/around zero.  Be sure, once you get it, to spin the turrets a few times.  Sometimes grease in the turrets isn't well dispersed when the scope arrives.  Spin both turrets up and down a few times to spread the grease, than all is good.

On another note, a fixed 10X might not be my first choice for yotes.  Are you hunting them in wide open spaces?  ot sure of your experience with optics, but the field of view on a 10X isn't very wide on up close shots. It doesn't take much movement for the animal to be out of your line of sight.  Then again, my yote hunting is over a gut pile with only about 50 yards of visibility around the pile so quick shots are essential.

For the money, the scope cannot be beaten.  But for a little more, you can get the 3-9 that covers MANY more situations better than a fixed 10X will.
Freedom is something you take.
Respect is something you earn.
Equality is something you whine about not being given.

+1 with what RC said, the 3-9 would be better or even the SS 6X

Thank you!

Yeah I did consider the field of view. I am not getting that close... my coyote killing field is a long narrow stretch  of grassland behind my brothers house. My oppertunities are usually between 100 and 200 yards usually in low light. It's Infested. They took down a neighbors cow a few days ago!

This rifle/scope combo needs to be able to kill coyotes and be able to stretch out to 600yards
with consistant accuracy.

I did take a long look at the fixed 6.

If I like it but its just way to much power I will get the 6 and put the 10 power on another rifle.
