My SS10x42's windage turret has lost its audible clicks. I can
get them to come back if I crank it fast a few times, but then they are
only about half as loud as the elevation knobs, which has very loud
clicks. If I move the knob slow it is almost silent (have to put
it up to your ear to hear a very faint click). I have tried 2
different sizes of o-rings (Danco #10 and Danco #30). I am using
the Danco # 10's right now because when they are stretched out they fit
more like the origional o-rings. I have also tried swapping the
turret knobs and the problem remains in the windage turret. Does
anybody have any idea what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance. |

Try this thread, sounds like it may be a lubrication issue

Another scenario is to check your hearing ....the reason I say this is that I've gotten good at guessing when the beeps are or skating around the hearing check....that is until retirement when my problem will be manifestly known to all (and I will deny ever firing any weapons other than Uncle Sugar's). I always wear hearing protection but as I'm guessing you probably know that's not always an option.
