So, I am curious.  I want to mount my SS on my 375 RUM with a set of badger 50cal rings, how long could I expect this scope to last?  I would probably shoot this thing about maybe 200 shots a year.  Maybe less.

You'll sell the rifle long before that scope breaks.

Based on experience I'd expect 10-15 thousand rounds on the 375 before you see a scope failure.

Thats what I figured, just wanted to hear somebody else say it.  Those rings are not cheap, but I figure its worth it.  Some folks actually have suggested gettin a set of Talleys, but I just dont see them holdin a full size scope under the recoil.  a 1x5 or 6 maybe, but not this thing.

The rings are waaaay overkill for what you intend doing.  A set of Luppie or Badger standard would hold it.

I broke my last Super Sniper after 40k rounds, it just wore out from dialing the firing solutions.  New turrets set and a spring and it would be good to go.  Never lost the glass in one and I used to be pretty harsh on my gear.

Don't blame you for wanting to put an extra pound of steel on that gun though............................................

Yup on the adding weight thing.  I had a Bob Allen Rifle pad, and my shoulder hurt after shooting a dozen rounds.  I am shooting 250 gr northforks at around 2900 FPS.  I have not Chrono'ed my 300gr cup point solids yet.  The standard badgers are a tad cheaper too.  Depending on the ring height I need I might get the M40 set tha comes with one standard and one 50cal as a set.

Well, over 100 rounds and still solid as can be!   I did not get all of the packing grease off of the rings(Badger USMC SASR's), so I had some slippage, but after noticing, I yanked the scope, hit the rings with brake cleaner, remount, and its FMC now.  Now all I need is for the piggies to cooperate, the end of the gun season looms near...
