Need more info?

Are you hitting paper?

Are you out of windage/elevation one way or the other?

How far are you zeroing?

Rings and Bases? (Are the tighten down and what type?)

Did you try shooting close 25m zero and then walk your target out farther?  (sometimes needed if you can't find your round)

Start at 25 yards.

Hit paper

Adjust scope until bullet hole moves into line with the vertical crosshair,  At 25 yards every numbered increment will move the bullet 1 inch. ( that's four clicks for the moa challenged  :   )

Adjust scope until bullet hole moves to a position 1 mil DOWN from crosshair intersection.

Shoot at 100 yards for final zero.

I can get it to hit paper fine at 50 yards and at 100 yards.But if I shoot to the right of target say 5 inches and adjust for it I would need to go 20 clicks to the left correct,if one click=1/4 inch at 100 yards.Cause my problem is when I adjust for it , it goes to far . Even when I get a shot that is perfect, next shot will be 2-3 inches off,I just don't get it. All my rings and base is tightened down good. My rings are burris extreme tactical, and my base is a Leatherwood Hi-Lux 1- piece tactical  picatinny-style base. I'm using good ammo.   Thanks for the replys , plz keep them coming.          ;           ;           ;           ;

how tight do you have your rings,
had a problem something to whats happening to you
and i had my rings to tight,i called the scope co. rep.
and that was one of his qustions he asked me.when i tighten
the rings to 16inch # it helped alot it went from shooting all
over the target to with in 2 inches.i had damaged the scope
by over tightig the rings.it is something you can try.and scope
could be bad also.thay all can have problems no matter what brand.
if that don't help i would send it back for repairs.SS will fix
the problem thay have a good service department from what i read
here on the OT.

I couldn't answer adequetly after that description without being on the range with you.

Suspect it's more than a scope issue but can't be certain.  Wish I could be more help.

sixpacdan,
What kind of groups was the gun getting before? Have you checked the base screws to see if they have come loose? Also check your rifle stock to action fit. Are those screws snug or loose.

And finally, (and most imprtantly)does it do the same thing in someone elses hands?
I have had all of the above happen at one time or another.
Dave

HUH???? I thought that with 1/4 moa click adjustment, 4 clicks= 1 inch at 100, and 1/4 inch at 25

Dan, one thing came to mind.........................you did properly focus the the reticle independantly and then parallax the scope on target before shooting right?

I'm guessing here.
