Just got back from initial sighting in my DPMS LR-308 24" SS Bull Barrel rifle, what a difference it made.  I removed a NcStar 6-24X50 Illuminated Mil dot scope and placed the new scope (SS10x42M) on a LaRue QD LT158 mount.  First off, the mount system is phenomenal, for those of you who haven't used Mark LaRue's products...but the scope was unbelievably cool to shoot with.  I like the fixed magnification and once I find my camera I will take pic's of the new setup and post the results of the sight-in.  I only put 50 rounds thru the rifle on a  Scope-It target, but once it got dialed in, the shot's were true and repeatable....The glass was much clearer than my previous scope and although the turrets didn't have much in the way of click yet, I understand that that will change with use.

I was shooting in very high humidity and variable rain, yet the scope didn't fog up and never missed a beat.  I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another scope and thankfully the cost make's you really smile once you see and use what you bought for a fraction of the higher end scope costs.

my current goal is to enter long range competition at some point, so I am working my way upl.   My closest range maxes out at 300 yards so for the time being, that is where I will primarily practice, however I am looking for and talking to all the locals to find a range with reasonable driving time that offers much further than even 600 yards.  I don't really have a cap in mind, but will take it slow as there is sooo much to learn.

I really LOVE the scope though.  I'll post pic's later tonight I hope...

Thanks,

hepcatz

This is the old setup....

Alas...this is the New setup....

Upgraded Trigger to JP Tuned (about 4lb pull) and SS 10X42M mounted on LaRue's LT158 QD Mount 30mm Rings

(Place card)

And this is the sighting in results...which I was rushed....it was raining and super high humidity....at 100yards...168gr match BTHP .308 ammo

(place card...where's the damn camera kids.....)

Do you have any pictures of the rifle with your new ss on it? That is a nice rifle, I was looking at one similar to it earlier this year.

What a great hobby!
