First off. My name is Logan, I'm currently living in Biloxi M,S and shoot a 700p. I recently purchased a SS10x and I'm patiently waiting to mount it on the 700 and light up the range. The problem is I can't seem to find the ring/base combo I'm looking for anywhere. I've made up my mind that I don't want new "B.O" or Leupold stuff. I've back ordered a IOR HD ring/base combo here, but there was no ETA given on that gear. I've searched all the main boards "for sale" section and many various dealers online and local and came back empty handed. Does anyone here know where I can get either a TPS, IOR or even used B.O ring/base combo? thanks Logan |

Nope. But here's where you can get a new set of Badger rings and a Badger rail. http://www.riflescopes.com/products/30608/badger_ordnance_ma ximized_scope_30mm_rings.htm
http://www.riflescopes.com/products/30606/badger_ordnance_ma ximized_scope_1_piece_rail.htm (20 MOA short action RH Remington.)
You buy Badger stuff once, friend. I have a Badger 20 MOA rail on my 700 that has seen SEVERAL differant scopes, optics, etc. Same rail. Bought once.
TPS has some nice stuff, but they appear to be sold out right now.
You stole the SS. That scopes worth 3 times as much as you payed for it. Get the Badger gear and start shooting NOW!!

Thanks cheaptrich,
I know that the Badger stuff is top rank. You can't go wrong with Badger. I guess I just need to pony up the cash and get some. The only reason I don't have any now is because I've always felt that some of the other ring/base combos were just as good. And for less money. On a side note. The Super Sniper scope is one of the best scopes that I've ever owned. I wasn't expecting much, so after getting the scope and looking through it, I was really surprised. SWFA customer service is outstanding. Extremely helpful! I wish more businesses were like this. I don't mind spending my hard earned money with them. Again thanks for the info BTW- Its not often you see another lefty shooter. Nice stick. |

Just put in Leupold STD 1 piece mount and rings. You can do the entire set for the cost of used 'tactikewl" stuff and your rifle isn't going to see any severe duty in any case. The STD set will work fine for years of service.

You're right Mike, This is a personal rifle (will never see combat).
I'm going to make some phone calls Tuesday and see what I come up with.
You must admit though, there is a huge void in the market for heavy
duty rings/base combo's at the moment. There is money in the air and
nobody to snatch it.

Would the Armalite one piece scope mount be a good mounting system?
As good as the badger cheaptrick mentioned? |

No the Armalite system is not as good as Badger. I have both the screws on the Armalite are brittle and prone to break causing major problems beside that the Armalite system is set up for flat top AR-15s and similar and will have the scope higher than you would want on a 700P. The Badger is a fine choice and the IOR is also quite similar other possible options like ARMS throw lever rings and Leupold rings are an option. If you are really on a limited budget look at the Burris Extreme Tactical rings & base. Eventually you will buy what ever and then wind up buying Badger after throwing money away on the other stuff.
