Could someone tell me what height rings I will need to mount a 4X14- 56mm First Generation Springfield on a Remington 700 light barrel rifle. From the previous post I know Badger Ordanance is the best, but what about Smith Enterprises. I appreciate any and all information. Best Regards Greysky in the Mtns. of N.C.

A general rule of thumb to remember.

56mm  = Super High Ring

Thanks Brady, after reading the archives I realize I have a dud for a scope. Maybe I should regroup before investing a lot of money on the Badger Ordanance Rings and mounts. Seems I always learn things late. Thanks again for the information and maybe I can return the favor oneday. Greysky

Its not a dud....just mechanically challenged.  Just kidding.  The Springfield scopes that broke usually did so right away.  There are a whole lot more performing flawless than there are broken.

Thanks for the reply Chris, the scope came to me from a good friend on a trade. I'll try it and let the forum know how it works, and how long it last. I'm going to invest in the Badger Ordanance base and rings, guess I could always put them with another scope. Thanks again for the reply and best regards. Greysky
