I'm looking for a spotting scope for long range shooting in the $350ish range.  Any ideas appreciated.

Hey all (it's been a while since I last posted, I know :))

I'm gonna borrow this topic a bit, since I have exactly the same question: what spotting scope to get (under $350) for general use (hunting, shooting ...)

Is it even worth bothering with spotters this cheap, or should I save up and get something better instead?

Thanks

The only reason I do not own one of these is the fact that SWFA was out of stock. I did find a smoking deal on a Leuppy Gold Ring compact off the Sample list though.
The Minox has better reviews, and cost less new, but the Leupold does work well.

Cool, thanks. I actually found a used Minox spotter (angled) around here, but I'm still a bit sceptical. I think I'll save up an get a proper one (or a used high end one). Or is this Minox going to cover all of my needs, until I'll be able to afford a better, high end one?

Thanks again.

What do you consider "long range"?
