I need to get a small spotting for rimfire bullseye matches.  It will be mounted on a pistol box.  Need to see .22 holes from 50 ft indoors to 50 yards outdoors.  Smaller is better but want to get one with good optics.  Any suggestions?

Thanks Frank

The best, and most expensive, small spotting scope right now is the Nikon ED50, and it will do what you ask and much more.  The little Nikon accepts any of the older Fieldscope eyepieces, and is available in an angled version, which can be nice for use on a bench.

The Leupold Golden Ring Compact series will also serve your needs capably.

Another option is the Minox MD50, and it is available in angled.

If you want to go the cheapest route, the Burris Compact series can be found for downright bargain prices and actually is a nice little spotter, if you get a "cherry" unit.

Alpen #711-20x50- is another to look at.Weights 10oz cost $80.Don't let the cost throw you off.I had one & they are  just what you are looking for given the specs you quoted.

I have a feeling the Alpen and Burris share a common ancestry.

I have a Burris Compact 12-24X50, and it is surprisingly sharp.
