On average, Russians are as stupid as any other people out there. However, there is a solid portion of Russian populace that makes it a point to flaunt their stupidity.
Do they call them LIBERALS there also?
No. The word liberal has the connotation you mean primarily in the US.
Koshkin, Yes they are liberals for the most part. Look at the Russian populous in our country and see how many are registered Republicans. Every Russian I know (there are a bunch of them here in Oregon) are registered Democrats. That makes them liberals in my eyes.

Not every russian you know. I came here from Russia and I am registered as a Libertarian. A couple of points: some people you see coming here from Russia are russians and some are Russian Jews (different subculture and ethnic background). I am the latter. Of the Russian Jews that I know a very substantial number are pretty conservative. As for the word "liberal", the point I was trying to make is that the political definition of a "Liberal" used here, does not really spread to other countries. A political "liberal" in Russia is something a bit different. The question was whether they are known as "Liberals" in Russia and that is not the case. ILya |

Politically-speaking, I am very conservative on fiscal issues and feel strongly about a need for a small government and importance of private property rights. In many ways my views are very close to classic liberalism or, perhaps more appropriately, to conservative libertarianism. On most social issues, I really do not give a rat's ass as along as people leave me out of it. In my view, federal government should not be involved in most social issues.
I am obviously heavily pro 2nd Amendment. However, there is more to a political party than just 2nd Amendment rights and modern day Republican party is a huge disappointment to me. Big government republicans and big government democrats are dragging us in the same general direction, except the democrats are doing it faster. I can't think of the last time I voted for a candidate I thought was worth voting for. Just about every time there is an election, it seems I am voting against someone, rather than for someone. Wes,
I agree with you 99.75%. My only question, Kemo Sabe is how did you get so wise in only seven short years??? I like your attitude!!! I am an AMERICAN with no less than three sets of great grandparents in the Mayflower registry. We've been here a while.
