South Africa is rugby mad. We do not play American football at all, but rugby. As you probabably do not know, South Africa had just won the World Cup for rugby. They played against the English in the finals. We played them in one of the elimination rounds and thrashed them 53-0 or something like that.

One of many jokes doing the rounds is that the Springbucks (South African team) was playing against the English. At half time the score was 48-0 in favour of the boks. By now the boks had had enough of this lack-lustre game and decided they would rather go for a beer then continuing with the game. However, our very succesful wing Brian Habana says No, he is still enjoying the game and will go face the English alone (There are 15 players on a side).

So, at the end of the game they meet up with Brian and asked how did it end. The final score was 93-3, he says. No man, they berated him. How could you let them score? well he said, everything went fine, untill the last 10 minutes of play, when he was yellow carded and he was sent off the field!!!!

Congrats on the victory.

.I lived in Pietermaritzburg for 15 months as an exchange student , and had my anterior cruciate ligament snapped during a rugby game so I  can attest to just how tough a game it is. I have to admit that I miss hanging out at Midmar Dam, hitting the Cape for the holidays, and taking a roadtrip to Durbs for the weekend.

Best of luck ...
