Just did a review on the new DedNutz one piece base and rings scope mount. I'm not afilleated with DedNutz just a want to be long range shooter. The best feature of this mount is PNP, Plug-n-play. Just take it out of the package, mount it with screws provided. Place the scope in the rings cap and level, then torque down.

So how do you know it it is truely turn key? How did you check the rings to see if they were true? For those of use who do not want a login to that forum... Edited by silver |

I mounted a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x44 mil-dot on a DNZ low Game Reaper. It's sitting on a Remington 700 SPS .204. NEVER had such a perfect fit. The good folks at DMZ told me to get the low mount because the 30mm tube will allow the objective bell to just ckear. Iit's so perfect a fit that a Butler Creek flip-cap will not go on the objective bell. There IS room as a playing card will slide under with no problem. I cut back just enough of a B.C. cap that it now slides over the bell where the scope is close to the barrel. The cap has to pop at an angle but it's OK. Now I gotta deal with Renmingtons stupid bolt angle being too ,large. The knob on the boly handle id one-eighth inch from the scope. The stock FRemington 700 bolt SUCKS/ Time to install a new handle if I can't find a good bolt for sale.

Snidely, it may be cheaper to have a new bolt handle installed, I believe the barrel on a rem 700 may have to be head spaced if you put a diferent bolt in their. That may require barrel removal and possible threading.

Wow! Thanks , Dave. I've seen bolt mod pictures online and they just cut off the handle and weld on a new one that wiil give the scope room. Depending on the rifle, refinishing the bolt/handle may be required.
I sent an Email to Remington to ask why a rifle with an oversize Varmint barrel has a bolt that must move too high an angle for ejection. Any engineer worth his salt would KNOW folks are going to put a high power scope and possibly one with a 30mm tube.
