I have upgraded to the Remington 700 Limited .257 Weatherby. 26' Magnum Contour Factory Barrel. I cant mount my Conquest 6-20x50 in low rings with Butler flip covers with proper bolt cycle clearance. I have a VX-3 3.5-10x40 on the rifle now. Just not satisfied that better glass can be had at a higher magnification mounted in low rings. Help.

I am sure there is an answer for you.

Is it going to be used for hunting? What is the use going to mainly be?
Price range is another biggy.

If you have deep pockets you can go with the Leupold Mark 8 1.1-8x24

From previous posts i dont believe you are to fond of Leupold products but Swarovski makes a 1-6x24 for half the price.

Also the SWFA SS 1-4x24Yippee

Gives us some guidelines

Some help with the intended use  and intended price range would help.

Generally, if you are looking for high magnification, there are plenty of high magnification scopes out there with 42mm objective lenses from Sightron, Bushnell, Leupold, etc

Swarovski Z6 1-6x24...  I have one on my 338 WM.  or you can look at the 1.7-10x42.

Def not Leupold. Would like to get better glass than Vx-3. Would like to have at least 14-16x. And keep it in low rings. Its a hunting rifle. Ive never had FFP but am considering. It just bothers me that I cant even on my shooting vise clearly pinpoint a 1moa Bullseye on 10x with the Leupold @ 100yds. I can read newspaper on 10x with my conquest. Its just too big to low mount on this barrel and use my favorite flip ups. Thanks for the feed back.

Would like to stay in 2,000 to 1,500 range on this one. Gonna put a Boss on the rifle at the end of season and prolly do a AAA Walnut Upgrade before fall 12'. Rifle has special meaning to me and wanna low mount the highest mag tier 2 or 3 that I can get.

Hey I like that 3.5-18x44 Z-5. Have read here that Swarovski is in the tops with their glass. Gonna look @ Deer Camp and see if I can look through one. Thanks!

All of those are worth a look and have excellent glass. The Minox has German glass also. The Bushnell 6500 glass is around the conquest area in glass quality.

I think the Z5 would be my choice given what you want. However a 6500 2.5-16x42 is not a bad scope at all and I feel it's on par in low light with my Conquest's. It has a lot of eye relief and a lot of power range. The eye  relief feels like more than published but still does just as well in low light as my Conquests and 4200's. If I had to give an edge it would probably be my 4200's in just 40mm. The two I have  are both very bright and have descent glass, especially for the price. With a set of high end bino's, it's about all I need to hunt with! And I just hunted with a Zeiss Diavari 3-12X56 #4 mounted on a HS Precision 7mag and a set of Swaro EL 10X42 bino's a couple of days ago at my friend's(on an unexpected hunt). I don't think I am giving up much with my Leica bino's and Conquests or 4200's . However, I know I could get a Z5 3.5-18x44 and just be done with it..............never a doubt again..........no head scratching or second guessing. Just a lot of cash for marginally better performance in legal/45min past legal hunting. i still think I could kill 99 out of 100 deer my buddy could with his stuff I mentioned previously(but I can't argue that the one may be the "one").
