Considering a Sightron Big Sky II 12x24 AO for CZ American 453 as dedicated target/possibly silhouette rifle. I prefer the fixed power and think a 12 power would be a good all-around compromise. The target dot is listed a .50 and appears a bit large in the reticle images on the company website. How does that translate when viewing the target? Would this scope be acceptable at closer ranges such as 15 yds? Any explanations, personal insight, or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks...cb

I can't tell you about the Sightron, but the SS10X42 with MilQuad reticle is pretty slick in my opinion... The 10X still allows me to see the flight of a .22 at 100 yds and see the POI... the reticle is fine and the substensions allow for quick change in settings... it has great target turrets as well... of course you have to temper my input as today was the first day I had a chance to try out the scope on my CZ455... got the scope from SWFA for $300.

Thanks for your response. I took a look at the scope you have. It does seem like a nice one. I will do a little more digging around as I am not in a big rush. At least not yet anyway. Thanks again and enjoy the CZ! cb
