Hi, I'm new to the forum so please be gentle with my fragile egoBig Grin

Who of you have owned or currently owns this scope? I see they are not very popular. What might be the reason for that? Are there maybe a link to a full review of this scope here?
I'm mainly concerned about the repeatability of the turrets and how it holds zero. That to me is far more important than the quality of the glass.

They are now a cheap brand, another Chinese POS.  Simmons used to be a decent scope maker, I had a Japanese Pro Hunter, and they also had some good scopes made in the Philippines, but those days are long gone.  They are low quality controlled scopes now, and very unreliable from my personal experience.  $149USD is a lot for that kind of scope.

Now having said that, I know in some parts of the world scopes are expensive no matter what brand you are stuck with.  I met a fellow from Australia who paid a lot of money for a Tasco scope, and felt he got a bargain.

I would see if Mueller scopes are available in SA.   They have better quality control, and actually cheaper than the Simmons.  Check out this link from the sponsor of this forum.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately there are also no Mueller scopes here. But I've decided to buy a Sightron SiiB as soon as my credit card looks a bit better. I just can't decide what reticle to get. Target dot or mildot. I love mildot scopes but I've heard people tend to do better at silhouette shooting if they use a target dot scope.

Too be fair to the Simmons scope. I've ben using the scope for a while now. Its tracking I have no problem with. It seems reliable and repeatable. I've put a label with the distances marked on the turret and it works just great.
However the scope does not seem to hold a perfect zero. I did not experience a shift in the last three range sessions before last weekend, but last weekend I had to click the turret 2 clicks as the rifle was shooting a tad low. So it did not hold its zero.
