Anyone have any experience or info on the Simmons 25-75x90 Wilderness Series spotting scope? I am considering one for 100-300 yard benchrest use.

I'll betcha, being a Simmons, that beyond 30X it is useless.
With spotting scopes dollars in equal quality out. I would cruise ebay and look for a minty used or NOS Nikon, Redfield, B&L, Burris or Leupold. You will be disappointed with anything that is less than $3-400. |

I had a chance to try the Simmons out. From the gunshop parking lot I ranged a parked car at 415yds and was able to read the license plate and see the tag bolts at 60x. My big gripe was a very unstable tripod that comes with the package.($299 pricetag) Any advise on the Bushnell Legend 20-60x60? It seems to fall in my price range also. I only have around $300-325 to invest at this time. |
