Looking at the vx3 3.5-10x40 cds and the 3-12 sightron. Which of the two would you pick? Glass? Durability? Click repeatably? Don't want a super heavy scope.

Both are good scopes.

I slightly prefer the Sightron due to a more consistent eye relief (VX3 eye relief varies with magnification a bit more), but ultimately the choice between these two comes down to which reticle you prefer and which you can get a better deal on.

Optically, S2BS has a touch better resolution, while VX3 has a touch better contrast.

Both are well built.

Thank you. No AO needed on the 3-12 model I take it?

Any comments on the sightrons with 4.5-14 with side focus or the 4-16 with AO? Vx3 in that power range isn't very popular and the sightrons are cheaper tHan the vx3 up here in Canada.

Scope will be used for big game hunting out to 600 yards. Further than that I have a 338 lm with s3 6-24 lrmoa.

Another reason for the Sightron BS is the hydrophobic coating. It can come in handy!

The VX-R might be something to consider as well, though I'm not all together sure the glass quality is equal to the other two.
I'm really growing fond of mine.
If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

I've owned them both. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one and I've compared them side by side in very low light. It's hard to distinguish a difference. But, during the day light hours, the Sightron appears darker while the VX3 is very bright. I'm sure it's the coating. You'll be ecstatic with either.
