The advertisement for SII Big Sky states
  • All Weather Construction: All Sightron SII Big Sky™ Riflescopes have the ultimate in all weather construction. They are waterproof, nitrogen filled and provide a lifetime of internal fog protection for inclement weather.
  • Lifetime Warranty: All Sightron SII Big Sky™ Series Riflescopes are waterproof, shockproof, fogproof, nitrogen filled and are covered by Sightron’s Lifetime Warranty.
  • Is this the same as Bushnell (foe exapmpe) rainguard external coating - Or is it just saying that it is sealed with an inert gas?

    Thanks for the help.

It means that it is sealed with a inert gas no coatings like rain guard that I know of . I have 3 big skies and can't say enough about them.
