I am looking at the picture of all 7 scopes in the Signature Select series (http://www.burrisoptics.com/signature.html). What I see is that one of the 7 scopes, the 1.75-5x32 Safari, has a completely different eyepiece from the rest of the scopes in the Signature series. It appears to be the exact eyepiece of the (substantially cheaper) Fullfield II and could be visualized as a .75-5x20 Fullfield II with 32mm objective and PosiLock. So what is the Signature Safari? Is it an improved Fullfield II that is not as good as the Signature Select or is it an attempt to prevent overpricing due to the cost of Safari special features? Or another reason?

To the best of my knowledge Signature Safari has the same glass and build quality as the rest of the Signature Select scopes.  I am not sure why the use a different eye-piece housing.  Signature Safari has longer eye relief than the rest of the Signature scopes, so they may have found it easier to use a different eye-piece.

I don't have a Signature Select, but I do have a Signature Safari and a FFI  The Safari is a much better scope.  I wouldn't let the eyepiece difference bother me.

Best guess it that it has to do with the distance parallex is set since most dangerous game is hunted under 100 yds likely under 75 yds not at great distances.

Thanks for the info. The stores around me do not carry the Signature Safari, so I ordered it with a 3P#4 reticle from SWFA. My wife said that if I donít like it I could buy another scope, a really good one.  Big smile
