3x9x42 SII and SII Big Sky

How forgiving of eye position are these two scopes?

Reguler plex, good for hunting under the 30 min. sunset rule?

I have the 3x9 4200 and Conquest,  a comparison to these two would help me get an idea of what to expect.

I give  the overall nod optically to the Conquest by the slightest of margins--4200 is a better value and  touch better optics than the Sightron.. IMO

The S2 Big Sky optics are better than the 4200.The optics of the S2 is on par with a Nikon Monarch but the S2 Big Sky is a new design better glass a tad better than the Conquest.

As you can see, these scopes are that close that opinions will vary.  I would say your in good shape with any of the three scopes you listed.

The Big Sky is about like  Conquest glass in  Leupold body. Small Ocular, lightweight and great eye relief.

Best bang for the buck.

Personally I believe the Conquest has the advantage Optically but all three are great scopes. I just wouldn't rank the Sightron next to the Zeiss when it comes to glass.

I have a Sightron Big Sky 1.25-5x right now I am trying out and just comparing it side by side to my 3-9x 4200.  I thought it had slightly better glass.  And it seemed to be just as bright in the low light.  The Sightron was also clearer to the edges of the glass, the 4200 gets a little fuzzy around the edges.

I own both scopes the Zeiss Conquest & the Sightron S2 Big Sky optics are a tad better. The S2 line is on par with the Nikon Monarchs. The new Sightron S3 & Big Sky are very good scopes and the quality is top notch. The Zeiss Conquest is a good scope but the plastic caps just says this is made cheaper from other Zeiss scopes.
