Just ordered a 4-16x42 Big Sky w/ mildots and wondering if the variable power has a locking feature. I would like to primarily us 12x for varminting so would like to know if this model has a feature to lock the power setting. (I ordered the 4-16 because they did not make a 3-12x42 with adjustable objective and mildots).

From my own experience with the same power and model scope I would answer no. I did however find no problem with the power changing at any time.......as it takes some conscience effort to change the power. Enjoy your scope.

I have never owned a rifle scope with a locking mechanism on the magnification ring. Has anyone else?

I thought I heard some upper end scopes have this feature but could be wrong. Posting this question because mildots will have different yardage from say 12x compared to 16x.

Never heard of it myself............but it would not change without help........had a pretty stiff power adjustment ring.
