I am familiar with Sightron scopes  in name only, having never seen a live one. However,  after receiving a Sightron catalog and reading a number of comments in the Forum, the SII Big Sky 3.5X-10X-42 has raised my interest a bit. Before going further I need to know how it stacks up against a similar configured VX-3, Zeiss Conquest, Bushnell 4200, Meopta Meostar or Nikon Monarch. I have been a long time Leupold user, but also have a couple of Z-Cons, a Meostar and a Monarch. Where does the Sightron fall, at least generally speaking,  in this group in terms of glass quality, build, sharpness, eye relief, ruggedness, low light application and other measures commonly used to evaluate scopes? If purchased, it will be mounted on a Winchester 70 in .30-06 and used for whitetails with shots ranging from 50 to 300 yards. Any insights will be appreciated.

In my opinion, the Big Sky Sightron's compare very favorably to those you listed. It does have a lens coating similar to the Bushy Rainguard that works just as well. Optic quality is quite satisfactory, and the CS at Sightron is good. I'd have zero hesitation buying one. BTW, I did  have a 3-9 X42 (with the HHR reticle) so this isn't just some forum smoke blowing.
