Found an add in a local classified for a Sightron SII 6.5-25x50.  I've searched around and can't find anything on this scope.

Called and the guy, said it he won a rifle a year or so ago and it had this scope on it.  Gun was never fired before scope was removed.   He's asking $200...  Any info?  Is it a good deal?

Thanks

Yes that is a good deal the 3-9 costs that much. Just look it over for damage. It would be a better target shooting scope than a hunting scope so if it is the right scope depends on if you have a use for it.  I tend to like the low end to be 4x if not lower but in good condition it is a bargain and you can always offer him a little less and see what he says.

I was thinking the same. Plus did it come in 50mm or just 42mm?

I ask the same question, and he reassured me it was 6.5-25
I couldn't find anything on that power range in Sightron.  That's why I thought I'd ask you guys.

If I buy it, it will go on an old 243 that is strictly target/varmint gun, replacing a 4.5-14 buckmaster.

I hav enever ehard of a Sightron S2 6.5-25.

There was a 6.5-20x50 and a 6-24x42.

Does the scope in question have an adjustable objective or side focus?

ILya

Not sure about the objective/focus.   I am going to look at it tomorrow night.   Can't help but think a Sightron SII for $200 is a good price regardless 6.5-20 or 6.5-25,  if it's like new as he claims.   Thanks guys, I'll let you know what I find.

The S2 at $200 is a good deal if it's in new condition. The warranty is lifetime replacement. You should know that scope sold for over $400 new.

Well, just drove 45 minutes one way to get this scope and found out someone showed up just before I did and bought it Cussing

Oh well, I'd rather have had a mil-dot anyway.

Guess you weren't meant to have it.  Got any idea on how much you want to spend on the scope you want?

Would like to get high power mil-dot in the $300 or less range.  I know, it won't be top of the line for that price.    Leaning toward the Mueller now.   Any ideas?

If you can live with fixed power, I'd say a 16x Super Sniper.

t brings up a GOOD point. When staying within a budget it's best to go with the basics in order to get a better quality product.
