I have narrowed my scope choice down between the Sightron SII 4x16x42 AO or the Weaver V16.

I am trying to decide which scope is best but unfortunately I have not been able to see either one in person.  If there is anyone out there who has seen both and can share an opinion it would be appreciated.

Any comments from anyone who owns either scope would be appreciated also!

I have the Sightron SII 4-16x42 AO, and consider it one of my best two scopes. The other is a Leupold 3-9x33 ERF Ultralight AO. These come ahead of a Bushnell Trophy 6-18x40 AO, Swift 6-18x42 High Recoil AO, and Hawke Airmax 4-12x40. All good scopes and airgun recoil rated. I have never used a Weaver, and bet it is a fine scope...but remain unclear as to whether it is springer rated or not.

I have not looked through both but I'll share my 2 cents worth. The Weaver (I have a V24) is an excellent scope on par with Bushnell's Legend, Burris' Fullfield II, and Nikon's Buckmaster. At 22LR ranges (20-100yds) the optics, repeatability, and tracking are as good as anything in its price class. Equally important for a rimfire it will focus down quite close. The Sightron has a great reputation and but I haven't looked through that scope.

This is a V24 on one of my tackdrivers.
