**Update at the bottom**

Anyone have any experience with this specific scope?  Was surfing the net and came across their web site.

http://sightron.com/index.php?action=view_category&cat_i d=1108935597

This scope looks very interesting.  I've sent them a e-mail inquiry about this scope. Can't find it anywhere on line for sale or review.

And, before anyone says it, Yes, yes, Sightron isn't Leupold Mark-this or that,...and the SuperSniper scopes are very good for the $....but I don't want fixed 10 power and I don't know the waiting period for the variable SuperSniper.

I have a DPMS .308 18" that I expect to/and have shoot/shot( WHAT IS UP WITH MY VERBIAGE?!?!?  I'm tired!)50-600 yards..depending.  I currently have a (GASP!) old Tasco Mag IV 4-16x50 that has held its zero nicely and cost around $150 bucks 8 years ago.  I want to goto a 30mm tube and MilDot reticle.  Looks like the Sightron listed above fits the bill.  But, I would like to see if anyone has actually held/fondled/fired/bought/sold this scope...

My budget is...well...I don't think you could call it a budget....wanna stay under $500Yeah..good luck buddy...see bottom of thread.. Yes, yes, that is very little $ for a variable 30mm MilDot scope, I realize that.

Anyway, any information would be appreciated

OK, OK STOP THE BAND WAGON!  Further web surffing and I found a competitor firearm equipment site had this scope...FOR $650!  Ahhhhhhhh don't think so..thanks anyway....

It is a nice scope.  I had one but sold it since I really did not have a good application for it.  I have a few Sightrons and I am very happy with them.  In your price range, you'd be hard pressed to find something better.

Snipercop,

I have a Sightron SI 3X9 Mil Dot mounted on my DPMS 16" perimeter rifle.  It is a mid range rifle that compliments my Rem 700 w/SS 10X40.  I battle sight it for use between 0 and 200 yards with a 50 yard zero.  POI is never more than two inches from POA with my zero.  I like the option of stalking on 3 power for those unexpected close shots.  I am retired now from Texas law enforcement and am now a college safety department director.  I too may invest in a SIII to make my 700 more field worthy.

Well....sent in the DPMS to have the barrel cut and threaded for Vortex flash hider.....ordered another free float tube (longer than the carbine tube that came on it..) and a Badger Ord tac latch (oversized charging handle latch).  Then...felt frisky and bought a Leupold Mark 4 PR 4.5-14x40, MilDot, 30mm, SF and some Burris xtreme rings....

So scope decision made...like always SPEND MORE $!!  Credit card bill will hurt next month when I get it but whatcha gonna do??

Thanks for any info posted or interested readers.

Well....just ordered the scope and rings today....I'll post my observations once I get them and then install 'em.  They look very promising.  Always thought $125+ for rings was a bit much no offense meant to Mark 4 ring owners....have a set on another rifle myself!)

NOTE- Burris web site part # and SWFA part # did not match on these rings.....called SWFA and the very friendly woman taking my order went to the backroom and grabbed the box of rings to make sure on the right item.  SWFA part number listed online is the correct one for the height...Burris web site is inncorrect...FYI.

Cheers!
