Hello All, I haven't really kept up with the new scopes. I just picked up a new rifle (Ruger #1 Stainless/Walnut in 6.5x55 Swede) it has a Nikon Prostaff 2-7 on it. There are 2 silver scopes listed on the sample list a Sightron S2 3-9x40 and a Bushnell Elite 3-9x40, I know nothing about Sightron but I know about Bushnell 3200/4200 (pretty good glass). The eye relief on the Sightron would be a selling point but how does it stack up againt the "Elite"? Thanks for any opinions.

First, welcome to the OT Forums!
Secondly, Sightron makes very nice scopes. The S2 level is a small notch beneath the Big Sky level. I have an S2 and a BS and both work just fine (although the BS is a touch better IMO). The Bushy elites are also good. I've had a 4200 Elite and there was a 3200 also. Either would work assuming the ER and tube lengths are long enough to get the scope back far enough. Some people resort to off-set rings to gain some rearward mounting latitude. Good luck scoping that Swede...sounds very nice (BTW, I love #1's). |

Forget it.....after reading the specs and doing a couple of searches, I ordered the Minox SA3 3-9x40. Hope it is as good as the write ups. Thanks to all that have contributed to the fine site, and all that keep it going.
