I need some advice on what kind of bases and rings to use for a Sightron 4.5-14 x 42mm on a Winchester 70 Super Shadow 7mm WSM.   I think I like the Burris signature rings, but I have zero experience with this, so that's why I'm asking.  I would like to know whatever products are going to be the most reliable and durable, even if it costs more money.  Any advice is appreciated.  Thank you.

I have the same rifle in .270wsm. with Sightron SII 3.5-10x42. I put Leupold 2 piece dual dovetail mounts (Leupold part #50046). I also used Leupold 1" Medium dual dovetail rings. You can use the Burris rings with these bases and (I think) the bases look much better. The Burris rings do have the inserts if you think that is plus.

Coach,

Thanks for the response.  I have recently bought Warne Maxima two piece bases to put on it.  They look great (although they aren't attached yet).  Hopefully they function great.  I am in the process of ordering the Signature Zee rings from Burris.  The guy at Warne didn't have anything nice to say about the Burris Signatures, but he was polite about it, and it's to be expected I guess, since he works for Warne.  Everything I've read for a few months now seems to indicate they are good. We'll see.
