I have a question, and this one willl probably show my inexperience the most, but is it normal to catch the end of the barrel through your scope at the bottom? I was doing some ranging, and noticed that I caught the end of my barrel through my scope.. anyone tell me whats wrong/right/okay with this?

At around 2x or less you can see your barrel.  Once you hit 3x it pretty much focuses beyond it.

what he said, i have this massive a2 front sight infront of my viper and i can't see any indication it is even there! i'm at a minimum 6.5x magnification though.
do you think it has any effect/interference on light collection or resolution?

If you took that front sight off it would brighten up your image a lot.  Even though it focuses beyond it, it is still in the way blocking the light entering the scope.

I have a 4x on an AR, and when the front sight it flipped up while I cannot actually make out the sight, I can see a slight black transparency in my sight picture.  When I flip it down, my picture is brighter.

Really it makes so sense having that sight on that gun, where you have permanent mount rings and no rear sight, I don't see the point.  Unless you are not able to take it off that is.

haha yeah it doesn't serve any purpose there, i had just put the scope on that day to find where i liked eyerelief  the best.  now i gotta cut out the foam in the case.  only reason its probably still on is because i dont have anywhere else to put it (will probably cut out another spot for that too.)

My experience has mirrored that of ST's....on scopes with a low end of 2 or less, I can see my bbl. from 3x up you cant see it anymore.
