Group,

I am down to my final decision and cannot decide if the side focus is worth the extra $100.00 on the SS10X, what are your thoughts and what are the advantages?

I'm a LH shooter a prefer a rear focus or AO for my shooting.

Allows me to correct parallax and still leave my trigger finger by the trigger.

Great scope choice!!

My wallet preferred the rear focus version...$100 saved goes a long way for decent set of rings and base (or ammo....or a nice dinner on the town....or 100 bacon jr cheeseburgers)

I have both and recomend buying one of each maby two of each. The rear focus is one less large knob to snag on things like rifle slings in the safe or tree limbs etc, but the side focus is more easily adjusted in my opinion. If it is for police or mil  tactical use buy the side focus and if it is for fun, hunting, or target the rear focus is fine spend the extra money on Badger Rings and plus 20moa Base.

The difference is the time it takes to adjust side focus being a fraction of a second faster for me than the rear focus. The difference is not really an issue unless you are being shot at.

Good points, one thing I did think about afterwards is I often  reach up for the side focus on the rifle with the rear focus because that's where I'm used to finding it but it is not on a weapon I ever anticipate using while being shot at, so I'm probably OK...best point all around is you can't go wrong either way, it boils down to $$$ and personal pref.  Here's my FN Mauser, I have not re-bowflauged it since I bought the kill-flash filter (another good reason to buy the SS).
