Here's mine. She's a DPMS LR 308 T. Trigger upgraded, and wearing a Nikon Monarch X 2.5-10X 44. Scope is from the samplelist

Here she's wearing a laser aiming device, and Bushnell Trophy Red Dot.

Thanks Wes. I was seriously pondering another IOR, Mark, and the fine folks at SWFA steered me in the Nikon direction. It really is a "FANTASTIC" scope.

Correct!

I bought it online from a very reputable dealer, only to find when I got it, it had NO serrations for the forward assist. Whacko
I emailed the dealer and asked him about it and he was dumbfounded and had never seen smooth sides on those bolt carriers before. CMT, if I recall correctly.

I still hit the forward assist a couple times after releasing the bolt from habit. Bucky

I thought that it was a tad short to be a 308 or so. I was about to copy the pic and post it 180 degrees out and say "LEFT HANDED?" Bucky

The large opening on the bottom of the carrier is short like the one on Semi-auto bolts have a much longer opening that extends further towards the rear.  The reason for the shorter opening is that it engages the auto sear, the longer hole will not engage an auto sear if for some reason you have one in a semi auto lower.Shocked

Just be carefull because the BATF can nail you for having auto parts in a semi auto rifle, even if it does not fire full auto or burst.  Even though some manufacturers even include full auto carriers in new rifles, it can still cause trouble if you do something to get them after you.  I believe there is a great article on AR15 dot com about full auto parts, what they look like compared to semi auto parts (with pictures) and what trouble they can cause if youre on the laws bad side.

I meant to say the opening on the bottom is about the same length as the one on top.  The semi auto is longer.

several manufacturers make whats called slick side bolts (les baer for one) without rachets to be used without the dust covers for competition and target guns, these carriers can also be gotten either heavier to increase cycling reliability or lighter in increase cycle rate. a good way to go is a slick side one ounce heavier, burnished and chromed or titanium the other way.
